Introducing Aspergers Awareness Year 2006....

Aspergers Awareness Year 2006 was a bright idea of mine that I thought up just before Christmas 2005. I need everyone to join us. All organisations, societies, councils etc.

Please display this on your websites.

What does it involve?

Surprisingly enough it isn't as complicated as it sounds. We need organisations, clubs, groups, councils etc help. These are the ways in which you could help.

  • Hold events in aid of Aspergers Awareness Year 2006. Not forgetting to mention that it's 100th birthday of Hans Asperger (the discoverer of Aspergers Syndrome) in 2006. If he'd still of been alive today I wonder what he'd think of the lack of understanding of his discovered condition.

  • Above all spread the word that Aspergers people shouldn't be punished for how they act. I'm a prime example of people treating me badly because of things I can't help and I believe that I am a person worthy of better treatment than expulsion and .

What I will be doing....

This is what I'll be doing while you're doing your bit.

  • If asked I'll be going to conferences if I'm invited (within uk) and sending info to conferences via email (different countries).

  • I will provide guidance to teachers and other professionals dealing with people who have Aspergers Syndrome.

  • Making this site a base for all organisations world wide so I can get people who have Aspergers Syndrome the services they deserve.

  • I will get involved in local events in aid of the Aspergers Awareness Year 2006 if I'm invited.

  • Will try and answer every email and feedback that comes to me from the site but if this campaign gets popular and I get lots of visitors emailing me then I can't promise to but at the moment I do reply to every email I am sent.

  • I will be doing a little bit of campaigning myself starting with the college who expelled me unreasonably after they gave me no help with my Aspergers Syndrome.

To get involved:

If you, organisation, school, college, council, society, group or anything else you're involved in would like to get involved. Just email the usual site address with the Subject Aspergers Awareness Campaign 2006. The email is assupportgrouponline@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks!
